Dr. Muhamed Basheer O.T. is a distinguished Professor in the Department of General
Surgery at KMCT Medical College Hospital, where he has been serving since July 1, 2023.
He completed his MBBS in October 1987 and earned his MS in General Surgery in May
2004, both from Government Medical College, Calicut, affiliated with Calicut University.
He actively contributes to research in his field with published works as follows:
1. Nittala, Rigved, O. T. M. Basheer, and M. P. Sasi. “Acute Pancreatitis: A Study of Urine
Trypsinogen-2 Measurement as a Screening Test.”
2. Ananthapurath Girijavallaban, Harisankar, and Muhammed Basheer Ottathayil. “Stage
Related Mortality in Carcinoma Oesophagus Treated by Surgery.”
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Muhammed Basheer is an active member of
the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI). He
has also participated in several national conferences, further enriching his expertise and
collaborative efforts in the field of surgery.
With over 26 years of experience, Dr. Muhammed Basheer has held various academic roles,
including Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor at reputed medical colleges
such as Government Medical College, Calicut, and Government Medical College, Kollam.
