Dr. Hitesh Gopalan U. is a Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at KMCT Medical
College Hospital. He earned his MBBS from Government Medical College, Calicut, in 2001
and completed his MS in Orthopaedics in 2006 at Madurai Medical College. Dr. Hitesh has
also completed fellowships in Arthroplasty (2007) and Sports Medicine (2008).
He joined
KMCT Medical College on August 26, 2019, and is registered with the Travancore Cochin
Medical Council (registration number 31551).
Dr. Hitesh is an active contributor to research developments in the field of orthopaedics.

orthopaedics.
He has received numerous accolades for his dedicated work and expertise, including the
Young Scientist Award from the Indo-Korean Orthopaedic Foundation and the CTIC Post
Graduate Quiz programme conducted by the Kerala Orthopaedic Association. He was the
runner-up in the Orthopaedic Association of South Indian States Postgraduate Quiz and won
National PG Quiz in Orthopaedics. Additionally, he has received an appreciation award from
the Tamil Nadu Orthopaedic Association for his consistent performances in state and national
quiz competitions at various conferences. Dr. Hitesh is also a gold medalist, having received
the Prof. Vyageswarudu Gold Medal for the best paper in Orthopaedics at TNOACON in
2005, the Post Graduate Gold Medal for the Best Post Graduate Paper at OASISCON in
Chennai, and the BIIRD Hospital Gold Medal for the best paper presented at OASISCON in
Tirupati.
