Dr. Nishi Kailash is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology
at KMCT Medical College Hospital. She completed her MBBS in September 2010 from
JMMC, Thrissur, under Calicut University, followed by her DNB in Obstetrics and
Gynaecology in June 2016 from Govt. Medical College, Kannur, under the National Board of
Examinations (NBE).
Dr. Nishi joined KMCT Medical College Hospital on January 1, 2018, and has since been an
integral part of the department, contributing to the academic and clinical excellence of the
department. She is registered with the Travancore Cochin Medical Council under
Registration Number 45367.
Her research contributions are evident through several publications, including:
1. Management of asymptomatic bacteriuria in pregnancy
2. Screening of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and gestational glucose intolerance
(GGI) in pregnant woman from rural population
3. Sonological estimation of gestational age by measuring length of fetal kidney after 20
weeks of pregnancy in healthy women with uncomplicated pregnancy
4. Study of endomed sampler for endometrial biopsy, by comparing the histopathology
reports as gold standard
5. Twisted large cellular fibroma of the ovary with pelvic effusion-revisiting incomplete
demons Meigs’ syndrome
6. Uterine leiomyosarcoma - a case report
7. Caesarean scar ectopic pregnancy: a case report.
Dr. Nishi is a member of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the College of
Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (COGS), reflecting her active involvement in professional
development and continuous learning. Her professional journey began with medical
residency at Pariyaram Medical College, followed by her roles as Assistant Professor and
later Associate Professor at KMCT Medical College Hospital.
