A Slew of Programmes to Mark World Heart Day

KMCT Medical College Hospital and KHIRC jointly organized a cardiac health camp and Exhibition from Sept. 28 to 29 at hospital premises to mark World Heart Day. By lighting the lamp, Sri. Geroge M Thomas M.L.A.- Thirumbadi constituency officially inaugurated the programme. He released the NABH certificate and handed over it to Mr. Ramees P.M.[Administrator- KMCT Medical College Hospital]

Dr K Moidu[ Chairman – KMCT Group of Institutions] presided over the function. “As part of Nanma Treatment project of KMCT, 150 free cardiac surgeries will be done at KHIRC to help economically backward people who need surgeries, said Dr K Moidu.

The book on cardiology named “Hridroga Chikitsakku Munpum Sheshavum written by KMCT Medical hospital doctor duo Vijeesh Venugopal and Binoy Jacob was released on the occasion by Dr K Moidu.

Heart day message was given by Dr. Prashanth [Consultant Cardiologist– KMCT Medical College Hospital]. Earlier Mr Ajay welcomed the gathering. Mr Shasudeen proposed vote of thanks.

An Academic session was also organized connected to the World Heart Day celebrations. KHIRC doctors Dr Sandeep Mohan and Dr Bijoy Jacob took awareness classes on different topics related cardiology.

The presence of about 5000 students from different schools and colleges made the exhibition meritorious. Nearly 200 people have benefited by the camp. “Free consultation, blood check and ECG and 50% reduction in the charge for ECHO and TMT was really helpful”, said one of the persons who took part in the camp.
